Getting to Know Meena
Meena Ayad, also known as MRU, is a passionate outdoor enthusiast with a deep love for adventure. Her journey into sports began at the age of 4, starting with biking, running, and football. In 2019, she took her passion for the outdoors to the next level by officially starting hiking, completing a 105 km thru-hike with ZMT in just 6 days.
Originally from Kurdistan—half from Rawanduz and half from Duhok—Meena has spent most of her life in Erbil. Her goal is to build a vibrant sports community in her home country. For the past three years, she’s been guiding hiking tours for both private groups and tourists, sharing the beauty of Kurdistan’s mountains and villages. As part of the ZMT team, she’s dedicated to showcasing the wild landscapes of the region.
